Root, Mary Jane (Ryan) Was born June 6, 1922 in Minneapolis, and had a peaceful passing on June 4, 2018. Survived by her three sons, James (Gretchen), David (Elizabeth) and Simon (Jeanne) Root, her ten grandchildren, Tim, Erin, James, Cate, Andrew, Courtney, Simon, Kelly, Brady and Maren, and her five great grandchildren, Seamus, Declan, Ronan, Kathryn and Mary Jane. Preceded in death by her daughter Betsy and her parents William and Jesse (Clark) Ryan, of Irish and Scottish heritage. Those that knew her always commented on her sweet and cheerful disposition and her strong devotion to her family. She was educated in Catholic schools and was President of her senior class at Holy Angels. She was a Northwest Orient flight attendant when flying was still a risky adventure. She married James Root in 1950, and raised a family in loving and stable environment despite having moved 18 times in 20 years. Mary Jane loved the color pink, bargain hunting and participating in family gatherings. She was always pleasant to all, joyful and extremely appreciative. Mary Jane will be missed by all who knew her. Visitation at Pax Christi Church, Eden Prairie, MN, June 16 at 10 a.m. with funeral mass at 11 a.m.
