Olson, Loretta (Vannurden) age 91 of New Hope passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 18th with family by her side. Preceded in death by her husband of 69 years Maynard Olson; parents George and Lillie Vannurden; son-in-law Neil Ess; seven brothers and six sisters. Survived by children, Dianna (Jerry) Juelich and Kathy Ess; grandchildren Tyler Ess, Beth (Tim) Velotta and Andy (Maria) Juelich; great-grandchildren Giuliana, Luca, Sofia, Sequoia and Kai; sister Blanche (Allen) Miller and brother Tom Vannurden. Loretta worked at Honeywell during World War II supporting the troops, married Maynard and became a fulltime mom. After the girls were older, she started working at First Federal of Crystal. She retired from that job that she loved so that she could travel and enjoy life with Maynard. Loretta loved many things including crafting (quilting and card making at church), playing cards, going to garage sales, and traveling. Entertaining and feeding family and friends was her joy. She was the queen of chocolate chip cookies and always had a batch on hand. Loretta was a people person who would welcome a stranger and quickly became fast friends. She will be greatly missed. Interment Glen Haven Cemetery. Funeral service Monday, 3/26/18 11:00 AM at First Lutheran Church of Crystal, 7708 62nd Ave. N. in Brooklyn Park.
