Mary Arlene Marquardt

Marquardt, Mary Arlene passed away on March 10, 2018, in Watertown, SD. She was born to Fred and Mildred Marquardt on May 13, 1937, in Watertown. After receiving her B.S. from South Dakota State University, she taught high school English in Tomah, WI, and, for 30 years, in Richfield, MN. Mary retired from Richfield HS in 1993, and eventually returned to Watertown where she resided at 906 N. Maple. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Eleanor (Nona) Whittenberg. Survivors include brother, David Marquardt (Linda); Kathrine (Van) Nixon; nieces and nephews, Tom, Susan, Paul, Jill, Ian, Sally, Joseph and Jordan; and cousins, Chuck Olson and Barb Kraai. Services will be held at Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown, on March 24. Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church (Watertown) or the Women & Giving Mission of the Watertown Area Community Foundation.
