Bragg, Ardietta "Betty" (Johnson) age 95 of Excelsior, MN. Betty was born 8/16/1922 at home in Hanley Falls, MN and died on 3/8/2018. Legend was her parents considered naming her Electra because electrical power was switched on in her home town on that same day. She lived in Minneota, MN through her school years, graduating from Minneota HS in 1940, and was one of the last survivors of that class profiled in Dana Yost's 2017 history book titled "1940 - Journal of a Midwestern Town". Betty raised her family and resided in Excelsior for 61 years and was a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran congregation. U of M grad 1944. Occupational Therapy practitioner employed by the US Army and an O.T. instructor at the U of MN and at St. Mary's Jr. College. Later a Qualified Rehabilitation Counsellor with Imark and Karr Rehab. She was a fine combination of the artistic and the practical, and she was generous within her family and her community. Preceded in death by husband John G. Bragg, parents Milton and Grace Johnson, brothers Robert and Lewis Johnson. Survived by children David (Mary) Bragg, Peggy Bragg Lehane, and Ellen (Patrick Lucking); grandson Matthew (Heather) Clark, four great-grandsons, sisters-in-law, Connie Johnson and Elizabeth Warnes, nieces and nephews. The family thanks special friends Cathy and Sandy and the wonderful staff at Presbyterian Homes Lake Minnetonka Shores. Traditional funeral service, Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 11 AM at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 301 Co. Rd. 19, Excelsior (952-474-8893). Visitation 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. A reception will follow the service.
