Dahl, James C., MD A retired cardiologist, Jim died peacefully at home on February 15, 2018, at age 96, with his wife Marilyn by his side. The cause was Parkinson's disease. Predeceased by parents, Richard W. & Josephine Dahl, and first wife, Helen. Jim grew up in Hutchinson, Minnesota. A good student and an Eagle Scout, he was called home from Hamline University when his father suffered a heart attack, a life-changing event that inspired his career. Jim graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School in 1946, having married a classmate, Helen Peik. He interned at Rochester (NY) General Hospital, was a staff member at the Minneapolis V.A. Hospital, and an instructor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Minnesota. From 1953 to 1955 he served in the Army Medical Corps in Frankfurt, Germany. He joined the St. Louis Park Medical Center (now Park Nicollet Medical Center) around 1960, remaining there until he retired in 1985. In 1986, Jim traveled to Taiwan to establish a blood pressure clinic at Kaohsiung's Chang Gung Memorial Hospital. Jim and Marilyn Rollwagen married in 1998, built a home on Green Lake in Spicer, and made two trips to Sweden. Jim enjoyed family vacations, sailing, skiing, hiking, a good book and a good beer. He was an enthusiastic Minnesota sports fan who loved classical music & jazz. Jim is survived by wife Marilyn Rollwagen-Dahl; sister Elsa Young; children Christine Dahl (Scot Anderson), Jim Dahl (Robin) and Nancy Martinson (Bruce); grandchildren JT Dahl, Trevor Dahl, Tom Dahl, Lisa Ankeny & Kristin Ankeny-Bickenbach (John Bickenbach); stepchildren Steven (Kristi) Rollwagen, Jim (Kristine) Rollwagen & Dave (Mary) Roll- wagen; eleven step-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren. A memorial celebration is planned for July 7, 2018, 2-6pm, at the Prairie Woods Environmental Learning Center, 12718 10th Street NE, Spicer, MN 56288. Condolences: petersonbrothers.com.
