Jean Williams Peetz

Peetz, Jean Williams age 96, passed away peacefully on 2/16/2018. She was born on 9/14/1921 in Oak Park, Illinois to Verle and Evelyn Williams. She grew up and attended school in Hibbing, MN. She attended Hibbing Jr. College and went on to graduate from the University of WI-Madison with a degree in Mathematics. After college, she moved to New York City and worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for 40 years. In retirement, she worked as a Certified Document Examiner to determine if documents were forged. She has been at Friendship Village in Bloomington for the past few years, moving there on 5/31/2014. Jean was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Edina. She was very proud of her Welsh heritage and was trying to master the language. While in New York, she was a member of the Welsh Club. Jean loved traveling and got to take a world tour with her sister Eleanor. She is preceded in death by her husband, Al Peetz and her parents. She is survived by her sisters, Barbara Curry and Eleanor Suttle; 5 nieces and nephews, Stephen Curry, Paul (Shelley) Curry, Richard Archambeau, Annette (Patrick) Archambeau, and Jane (Chris) Allo; 13 grand-nieces and nephews, Dan Curry, Matt Curry, Sydney Curry, Sean Curry, Carl Stringe, Brian Stringe, Curtis Stringe, Jim Schmid, Amy Archambeau, Nicole Archambeau, Roy Archambeau, Kelsey Archambeau, and Natalie Allo. Memorial service will be on Wednesday, 2/28/2018 at Friendship Village, 8100 Highwood Dr. Bloomington, at 11:30AM. Spring interment at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing, MN.
