Stelman, Beverley J. (St. John) Of Bloomington, MN, died peacefully February 12, 2018 at N.C. Little Hospice in Edina. She was born in Brockville, Ontario to William and Flora St. John, February 14, 1932. The family came to the U.S. in 1940, settling in Aitken, MN. Beverley graduated from Aitken High School in 1951 and entered the nursing program at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth, receiving her RN degree in 1954. While working at St. Mary's, she met the love of her life, Eugene Stelman. They were married on September 10, 1955 in Carlsbad, NM and made their home in Duluth. They moved to the Twin Cities in 1962, making their home in Richfield, where they raised their four children. They also lived in Fergus Falls and Coon Rapids before moving to Bloomington in 2010. Beverley was an extraordinarily kind, loving, generous, and efficient woman a compassionate nurse and a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. To know her was to love her - as Gene always said, she was "adorable." During their 62 years of marriage, they enjoyed music, shows, sports, and travel. Beverley was devoted to her family and to her Catholic faith. She will be missed deeply by her husband, Gene; children, Sister Joan Marie, OSB, Steve (Julie), Bruce, and Scott (Stephanie); grandchildren Christine (Jeff) Stefanik, Joe, Ben, and Hannah Stelman; sisters, Phyllis St. John and Shirley (David) Phelan; brothers, Keith (Charlene) and Rodger (Norma) St. John; sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Larry) Kaiser and Janet St. John, and many other dear relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Kenneth, Bill, Joyce Lawler, Wilda, and Leroy. Services will be at St. Richard's Catholic Church, 7540 Penn Ave. S., Richfield, MN, Tuesday, February 20, 2018. Visitation: 10:00 am, funeral Mass: 11:00 am, followed by lunch.
