Bodeker, James Myron "Bones" age 69 passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at his home after a short courgeous fight with cancer with his family at his side. Jim was born to Fay and Elsie (Parker) Bodeker on July 31, 1948 in Glenwood, MN. He graduated from Annandale High School in 1966. He joined the US Army in 1967. He fought for our country in the Vietnam War from 1968-1969. He was honorably discharged from the US Army as an E5 in April of 1970. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal Silver Service Star, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Expert (Rifle), and Army Commendation Medal. Jim worked at PAKO in Golden Valley for 13 years. Jim also worked at Camp Snoopy Mall of America in receiving for 22 years until his retirement in 2014. Jim married Sharon Dorine Johnson. They made their home in Maple Lake and Robbinsdale, MN. They were married for 50 years. Jim enjoyed salmon fishing in Michigan, gardening and flowers. He enjoyed riding his Harley, going on numerous motorcyle trips with his wife Sharon, riding buddy Paul and his little niece Vanessa. His motorcycle trips were always and adventure wherever he went. He enjoyed a cool refreshing adult beverage with extended family at the Schu/undisclosed location/tanning salon. He loved driving the Ford, especially when they traveled to Crystal River, FL, where they met some special friends at the local VFW. He enjoyed them so much he transferred his membership to the VFW Post # 8189. He liked spending time with his family and friends. Jim made friends wherever he went. He left an impression on so many people that he met throughout his life. He had a gift to strike up a conversation with anyone anywhere. He will be greatly missed by all. We love you! Survived by wife, Sharon; little dog, Maggie Mae; sisters, Joan Brink, Jeri Lynne (Howard) Johnson; sister-in-law, Kathleen (Lyman) Bodeker-Hull; special niece and nephews, Shawn Johnson, Vanessa (Paul) Haekenkamp, and Aaron (Rachelle) Johnson; great nieces and nephews, Jesse, Valerie, Jamisen, Dreyten, Hendrix, Emery, and Aria; many other nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Fay and Elsie Bodeker; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Sidney and Lillian Johnson; brother, John Bodeker; brothers-in-law, Peter and John Johnson.
