Officers stood for a moment of silence at approximately 2:47 p.m. Tuesday, near the site where policemen Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu were slain in Brooklyn at 2:47 p.m. Saturday. Police say Ismaaiyl Brinsley ambushed the two officers in their patrol car in broad daylight. Mayor Bill de Blasio had asked that protests be suspended until after the officers' funerals, but a large demonstration packed sidewalks later in the evening.
