Nightlife notebook: Fashion, spring forward

The Twin Cities fashionati will be out in full force for the spring edition of Envision: Artopia, one of my favorite runway shows of the year. Now in its 10th season, the colorful party happens Saturday night at the Graves 601. Ignite models will hit the long runway wearing looks from 15 designers and boutiques (including stars Amanda Christine and Kjurek). Menswear will be represented by the likes of local designer Russell Bourrienne and retailer Martin Patrick 3. DJ Bryan Gerrard will supply the evening's soundtrack. New this year is a pop-up shop featuring Twin Cities jewelry designers.

Buffet of beats

Lots of dance-music news this week. First up is Beats Antique. If an electro-obsessed gypsy dancer married a dubstep-loving world music producer, their baby would sound something like this group. The California-based crew will bring their experimental live show to the Brick on Saturday (8 p.m., 111 N. 5th St., Mpls. $18-$20, www.thebrickmn.com.). Speaking of dance music at the Brick, the new venue just announced its Global Dance Festival, taking place July 18-20. The three-day affair will feature such electronic luminaries as Above & Beyond, Wolfgang Gartner and Knife Party. Tickets go on sale Friday (starting at $35 a day or $90 for all three days).

Just around the corner from the Brick is the Lounge. The venerable nightclub has a busy month of touring DJs. The New York duo Filo & Peri will bring their trunkload of anthems to the club on Saturday for a great price (10 p.m., 411 2nd Av. N., Mpls. $10. www.theloungempls.com.). Then on April 21, ghetto house pioneer DJ Funk comes up from Chicago for one big night at the Lounge. Don't miss this legend. (10 p.m., $10.)
