The Baltimore Ravens hired former Bears coach and St. Louis Park native Marc Trestman as their offensive coordinator.

Trestman was fired by Chicago last month after going 5-11 in his second season leading the Bears. He interviewed with Cleveland for the offensive coordinator job before taking the same position with Baltimore.

Gary Kubiak was the offensive coordinator for the Ravens this season as they went 10-6 and made the playoffs. He was introduced Tuesday as coach of the Denver Broncos.

Rodgers out six weeks

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers said his injured left calf should heal within six weeks.

Rodgers said he would have been ready to play had Green Bay advanced to the Super Bowl on Feb. 1.

Rodgers is skipping Sunday's Pro Bowl. He was replaced by Cincinnati's Andy Dalton, who will make his second Pro Bowl appearance.

Bears hire Fangio

Former San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Vic Fangio has taken the same job with the Bears.

Fangio, 56, had been a candidate for the defensive coordinator job with the Washington Redskins, who hired Joe Barry on Tuesday.

Jaguars land Marrone

The Jacksonville Jaguars hired former Buffalo Bills head coach Doug Marrone as assistant head coach and offensive line coach.

Marrone exercised an opt-out clause in his contract after the Bills were sold following owner Ralph Wilson's death. He guided Buffalo to a 9-7 record this season.

Falcons circle Quinn

Seattle defensive coordinator Dan Quinn's agent said Monday's second interview with the Falcons "went very well" and there's "definitely mutual interest."

The Falcons can't offer the job to Quinn until after the Seahawks play New England in the Super Bowl on Feb. 1.

Quinn and Detroit defensive coordinator Teryl Austin are the only two candidates to have had a second interview.

Bill Vinovich will be the referee for the Super Bowl, heading a seven-man crew that includes four officials working their first Super Bowl. Vinovich is in his ninth season as an NFL official.

• The NFL will have narrower uprights and longer kicks for extra-point tries at the Pro Bowl.

• The New York Jets hired Chan Gailey as their offensive coordinator.

• The Browns interviewed former St. Louis Rams coach Mike Martz for their offensive coordinator position.
