Edward Van Petten, head of the Kansas State Lottery for 11 years, has been named executive director of the Minnesota State Lottery by Gov. Mark Dayton.
Van Petten oversaw a 68 percent increase in ticket sales during his tenure in Kansas, Dayton's office said in a statement. Prior to heading the lottery, Van Petten worked for the Kansas state Supreme Court and as chief of the criminal division of the Kansas Attorney General.
"It is such an honor to join Governor Dayton's team," Van Petten said in a statement.
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is releasing ads attacking Republican Reps. Jason Lewis and Erik Paulsen for their votes to repeal Obamacare, as part of their first digital ad campaign of the cycle.
