This week's best bets
No. 4 Baylor at No. 5 Oklahoma State: Picked to be in the middle of the pack in the Big 12, the Cowboys instead are in the thick of the College Football Playoff race Baylor beat Oklahoma State 49-28 last year, but Cowboys coach Mike Gundy is 5-2 vs. Bears coach Art Briles. Of course, OSU will need a better effort than it displayed in its narrow victory at Iowa State.
No. 13 TCU at No. 12 Oklahoma: The Horned Frogs' slim playoff hopes hinge on beating the Sooners and exacting revenge against Baylor in the season finale. They'll need a healthy Trevone Boykin to pull that off.
California at No. 7 Stanford: The Cardinal has beaten the Golden Bears five consecutive times in the Big Game. And to make the season finale against No. 6 Notre Dame an even bigger game, Stanford can't afford to stumble.
No. 25 Memphis at No. 21 Temple: Both the Tigers and Owls have aspirations of earning a bid to the Peach or Fiesta bowl, but neither will get their with another loss.
