Heisman Trophy watch

Coming on strong

In the hunt

Corey Coleman, WR, Baylor: Was idle Saturday, and his QB, Seth Russell, has a neck injury. Season: 47 receptions, 865 yards (a 20.5 average) and 18 TDs.

This week's best bets

No. 4 LSU at No. 7 Alabama: Beginning with the BCS title game following the 2011 season, the Crimson Tide has won four in a row against the Tigers. But LSU just might have the person to flip the series in running back Leonard Fournette. At the very least, Fournette vs. the Tide defense should have old-school, grind-it-out college football fans smiling.

No. 5 TCU at No. 12 Oklahoma State: The Horned Frogs are outscoring opponents by an average of 52-15 at home. But this game is on the road, where they're playing tighter games, winning by an average of 44-34. And the Cowboys just put up 70 points.

No. 17 Florida State at No. 3 Clemson: The Tigers can pretty much wrap up the ACC Coastal Division title and give their playoff hopes a significant boost by beating the Seminoles, who have won the past three in this series.

No. 9 Notre Dame at No. 23 Pittsburgh: The ACC hasn't been a cakewalk for the Fighting Irish, who beat Virginia by seven and Georgia Tech by eight before losing at Clemson.
