Window washer dies in 40-story scaffold fall in New York City

A window washer was killed and his partner was seriously injured when their scaffold fell 40 stories from a skyscraper this morning.

<br> NEW YORK  — A window washer was killed and his partner was seriously injured when their scaffold fell 40 stories from a skyscraper this morning.

<p> The injured man was taken to a hospital in serious condition, fire officials said.</p>

<p> Parts of the scaffold and the body of the dead worker were  in a plaza area outside the building on the east side of the city.</p>

<p> No other information was immediately available.</p>
