Four years of war by the numbers

In four years, the war in Iraq has resulted in more than 3,000 U.S. troop deaths and nearly 50,000 Iraqi police and civilian deaths. Public opinion about the war has shifted substantially since the initial attack on March 19, 2003. Various measures of Iraq's infrastructure have been slow to improve - crude oil production and electricity generation have declined in recent months, for example.
