"The Apparition" (PG-13 for terror/frightening images and some sensuality) begins with the premise that paranormal events are projections of the human mind and ghosts exist as a result of our belief in them. Testing that theory, a team of young researchers sets out to create a supernatural being by willing it to appear. Can you see any possible way this could go wrong? The film hasn't generated tons of pre-release buzz (the biggest name in the cast is Tom Felton, "Harry Potter's" Draco Malfoy, who ought to know better than to mess around with the occult). Maybe the hush surrounding the movie is intentional. It wasn't screened for review.
