In a recent interview with Hollwood.com, producer-cowriter David Zucker admitted that it was a pretty haphazard process making his horror-film spoof, “Scary Movie 5” (PG-13 for crude and sexual content throughout, language, some drug material, partial nudity, comic violence and gore). Zucker, re-teaming with his Minnesota-based co-writer on the “Naked Gun” series, Pat Proft, stitched together characters and plot points from different movies, so prepare yourself for an experience low on coherence but high on slapstick. Simon Rex and Ashley Tisdale star as an ape researcher and a ballet dancer experiencing paranormal activities. I think you see where this is going. There’s also a knockabout bedroom scene with Charlie Sheen and Lindsay Lohan. After much Three Stooges battering, Sheen declares, “I’ve come back from worse than this.” We shall see. The film was not screened for the press. We’ll post a review when one becomes available.
