The Wild's seven-game preseason schedule will include home games at Xcel Energy Center against the Winnipeg Jets, Colorado Avalanche and Dallas Stars.
The team also will play road preseason games against those three teams, along with a game against the St. Louis Blues expected to be played at the Sprint Center in Kansas City on Sept. 28.
The preseason opens Sept. 18 in Winnipeg.
The regular-season schedule will be released — and the team's Adidas jerseys unveiled — Tuesday.
The preseason home schedule: Winnipeg, Sept. 21; Colorado, Sept. 23, and Dallas, Sept. 30.
Mavs pitcher honored
Minnesota State Mankato junior righthander Dalton Roach was named the winner of the Brett Tomko Award, given to the best pitcher in NCAA Division II.
This spring Roach was 10-1 with a 1.56 ERA while he tallied six complete games and two shutouts, including a three-hit shutout in the Mavericks' 4-0 win over Central Oklahoma in the Central Regional tournament. He struck out a school single-season record 128 batters in 86 ⅔ innings.
He helped the Mavericks (46-11) win NSIC regular-season and conference tournament titles and advance to the NCAA tournament.
• Volleyball outside hitter Sarah Wilhite and hockey forward Tyler Sheehy of the Gophers were among 28 athletes nominated for Big Ten Athlete of the Year honors by the conference's 14 schools. Wilhite was the American Volleyball Coaches Association's player of the year. Sheehy was a Hobey Baker Award finalist.
• Senior defenseman Sydney Baldwin of Minnetonka and senior forward Cara Piazza of Darien, Ill., were named the Gophers women's hockey co-captains for the 2017-18 season.
• Gophers softballcoach Jessica Allister and her assistants, Jessica Merchant and Piper Ritter, were named the National Fastpitch Coaches Association's Great Lakes Region coaching staff of the year. Minnesota won the Big Ten regular-season and tournament titles and finished 56-5.
