With temperatures still a dozen degrees below normal and several inches of snow still blanketing the ground, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board has postponed its Earth Day Clean Up event from this Saturday to May 12.
A supply pickup for site coordinators had been scheduled for Wednesday did not happen as planned; a new pickup date will be announced later.
The event on May 12 will run from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Locations to be cleaned up will be posted on minneapolisearthday.com.
Last year, 37 sites in Minneapolis were cleaned up by volunteers on April 21.
