Memphis rallies to put Pacers at 0-2
INDIANAPOLIS – Marc Gasol scored 20 points and Mike Conley added 13 points and 10 assists in his return home Thursday night, helping the Memphis Grizzlies rally for a 112-103 victory over the Indiana Pacers.
"The last five minutes we played pretty well — defensively we were a lot more aggressive," said Gasol, who had eight rebounds and three assists. "When our defense is clicking, offensively, things get much better."
The Grizzlies (1-1) had seven players score in double figures and closed it out by finishing the game on an 18-7 run. George Hill had 20 points for the Pacers while Paul George and C.J. Miles had 18 each.
•GRIFFIN PACES CLIPPERS: Blake Griffin scored 26 points and added 10 rebounds to lead the host Los Angeles Clippers past the Dallas Mavericks 104-88. It was their first meeting since last season's spat over free agent DeAndre Jordan, who collected 15 rebounds and scored six points for Los Angeles. Dirk Nowitzki scored 16 points for the Mavericks, who played without injured starting guards Deron Williams and Wesley Matthews.
•HAWKS GET WIN NO. 1: Jeff Teague scored 23 points, Al Horford added 21 and the visiting Atlanta Hawks beat the New York Knicks 112-101 for their first victory of the season.
