Attendance at the annual art sale at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design was way up this year, thanks to a lower price point, a Groupon and a few publicity ploys.

Here are the numbers from the 14th annual sale:

4,700 -- attendance, compared to about 4,000 last year

3 percent -- increase in net art sales over last year

$223,000 -- amount MCAD students and recent alumni made

80 percent -- the portion of sales the artists receive

20 percent -- the portion the college gets to cover the cost of hosting and promoting

7,000 -- approximate number of pieces for sale

$1,250 -- maximum price for a single piece

400 -- students and alumni participating

$25 -- door price for Friday night, down from $35 last year
