Edina

Parent input sought on safe school routes

Edina parents are being asked to complete an online survey to improve opportunities for children to walk or bike to school.

Since 2010, Bloomington Public Health has partnered with the city of Edina and the Edina Public Schools to help promote walking and bicycling. This has included the installation of 12 bike racks throughout city parks and 12 additional bike racks at Edina schools.

The collaborative is working to create comprehensive Safe Routes to School (SRTS) plans for both the city and Edina Public Schools.

In addition to providing valuable information for the developers of the SRTS plan, by participating in the survey, parents may also help secure additional state funding for infrastructure improvements as part of the plan.

All responses will be kept confidential and no names will be collected or associated with the results. Go to www.survey monkey.com/s/WalkBiketo School to take the survey.
