Free sports physicals available at Twin Cities Orthopedics

Students who need to complete a physical exam in order to compete in Minnesota State High School League activities can take advantage of several upcoming free screenings.

The screenings are intended for generally healthy athletes without any known preexisting conditions. Athletes with diagnosed conditions should consult with their physician for a more in-depth physical.

Along with the free physical exam, students will receive sports drinks and nutrition bars, free drawstring backpacks and a chance to win an iPad mini for those who RSVP two days in advance.

The screenings will be offered each day from 5-8 p.m. On Thursday, Aug. 8, exams will take place at Twin Cities Orthopedics' Edina and Maple Grove locations.

To register, e-mail sportsphysicals@tcomn.com or call 952-512-5647. Priority and a one-hour time block will be given to those who RSVP. Walk-ins are welcomed but are not guaranteed to be seen.

All physical exam clearance forms must be signed by parents or a parent must be present. Space is limited.
