MAY 5

Juvenile problem. Someone in the 9000 block of County Road 116 reported that their granddaughter was out of control and throwing things. An officer spoke with the 9-year-old girl, who calmed down and got ready for school.

MAY 6

Disturbance. A resident in the 19900 block of Hillside Drive reported that a neighbor's outside lights were going on and off. An officer found the homeowner was having trouble with the motion sensor lights, which were being set off by bugs.

MAY 7

Drugs. A 33-year-old Maple Grove man was arrested for possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle and not wearing a seat belt, after he was stopped at County Roads 10 and 101.

CHANHASSEN

MAY 12

Burglary. Tools were stolen from a home under construction in the 7400 block of Minnewashta Parkway.

CHASKA

WEEK OF MAY 16

Obstruction. Officers responded to a report of an intoxicated man near Highway 51 and Chaska Boulevard. They struggled with the man, who was lying near the water fountain in front of Chaska City Hall, as they attempted to take him into custody for detox placement. He was charged with obstructing the legal process with force.

INDEPENDENCE

MAY 7

Fire. Someone reported a house fire with large flames and black smoke at Genaker Way and Lake Sarah Road. The Loretto Fire Department was en route when the caller phoned to report that it was just a bonfire.

Medical. A 9-year-old boy was taken to the hospital after he was cut on the foot by a lawn mower at a home in the 3000 block of Nelson Road.

MAPLE PLAIN

MAY 5

Animal complaint. A resident in the 1800 block of Baker Park Road asked for information on how to protect himself while walking in the park. He said he had noticed more coyotes and wanted to be ready in case one approached him.

MAY 10

Animal assist. A resident from the 1400 block of Meadow Lane reported being unable to lure a newly purchased kitten out from under a car seat. An officer was able to get the kitten out and into the house, winning the profuse thanks of the mother and her children.

PLYMOUTH

MAY 6

Theft. A wallet was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 3400 block of Plymouth Boulevard.

MAY 7

Hit and run. A 54-year-old Crystal woman was cited for hit and run after striking two vehicles and fleeing from a parking lot in the 2500 block of Nathan Lane.

MAY 10

Theft. A grill and furniture were stolen from the patio of a home in the 2200 block of Ranchview Lane.

MAY 11

Drugs. A 24-year-old Champlin man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance after he was stopped for a traffic violation at Highway 169 and Rockford Road.

RICHFIELD

MAY 4

Drugs. Officers responded to a report of a domestic incident at E. 68th Street and Nicollet Avenue S. The argument turned out to be verbal, but a 37-year-old Fridley woman was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

MAY 8

Drugs. A 36-year-old Richfield man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance after cocaine was found in his vehicle, following a traffic stop in the 7700 block of Nicollet Avenue S.
