A heat wave this week could cause a bit of road chaos.
Minnesota transportation officials are warning drivers to watch out for pavement buckles. Temperatures that will push from the 80s into the upper 90s this weekend in parts of Minnesota could cause some pavement to expand and rise up, posing a safety hazard to drivers, said Kevin Gutknecht, spokesman for the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Motorists who hit the buckle may eventually bust it up, leaving a gaping hole and yet another hazard in the roadway.
Transportation officials advise motorists to call 911 if they spot a road buckle. Transportation crews will be sent to repair it.
