A Field Guide to Walden Pond

I've never visited Walden Pond even though I once lived within walking distance. Well, walking if I was Henry Thoreau, who walked a lot, and made the pond famous in his book "Walden."

If I were to go back, I'd find "The Field Guide to Walden Pond" very useful. It's a definitive examination of the pond and its history. Any detail Thoreau might have missed in his book you will find here.

Robert M. Thorson, professor at the University of Connecticut, is the author. Houghton Mifflin Harcourt is the publisher. Paper or board edition, $16.99 / $26 are the prices.

This is a pocket-size guide book, as are all of the most useful guides, heavily illustrated with color photographs. It has 250 pages with index.
