A Wal-Mart in Forest Lake was evacuated Sunday night over concerns that snow on the roof might have caused structural damage, but the store reopened by night's end, an employee said.

The employee did not know the extent of any work done before the reopening.

Store management decided to evacuate the building about 6:10 p.m. after noticing a crack in a wall and bent steel in the ceiling, said Forest Lake Police Capt. Greg Weiss. He said he had expected the store to remain closed until Wal-Mart had a structural engineer assess the damage.
