Not that the Tennessee Titans defense will change, head coach Mike Mularkey said, but he's expecting Sam Bradford to lead the Vikings offense onto the field at Nissan Stadium on Sunday.

"The number of starts," Mularkey said Wednesday on a conference call. "Just a very intelligent quarterback. He's faced this defense before. I think they wouldn't give up a one and a four to have a guy sit very long."

Does 'very long' constitute fewer than eight days?

That's how long Bradford has between the Vikings' Saturday trade to acquire him from Philadelphia for a 2017 first-round draft pick and a conditional 2018 fourth-round pick — and his potential start on Sunday in Tennessee.

Bradford admitted it's a challenge to pick up the Vikings' game plan for the Titans defense — and then switch to film of what Dick LeBeau's aggressive zone-blitz defense will throw at either him or Shaun Hill.

Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer said he hasn't made a decision on the starting quarterback for Week 1, and won't announce it to the media when he does. When will he tell the team?

"When I decide," Zimmer said. "So get your moles out."

The good thing for Bradford is, to be ready, he won't have to learn the entirety of the Vikings' offensive play catalog. Only what they've installed and will use in Tennessee. The next few days of practice will decide whether Bradford is ready to start and do enough in the game plan to succeed.

"We got three more days of practice," Zimmer said. "Watch practice, see what he's comfortable with. There's a lot involved in this decision.

"We're going to do what he can do."
