Updating this story as the day goes along. Joseph is heading back to Mankato today, but won't practice tomorrow. He isn't expected to miss any more than a couple of weeks. …

Vikings nose tackle Linval Joseph was one of the multiple people shot during an incident at 1:50 a.m. at 400 Soundbar in the Warehouse District of Minneapolis early this morning, but the team said in a statement that Joseph is OK after a stray bullet hit him in the calf.

Joseph was immediately taken to the hospital and was treated for his injury and released. He is expected to return to training camp in Mankato today, but will not practice on Sunday. He is being evaluated by the team's medical staff today and is expected to miss no more than a couple of weeks, according to sources with knowledge of the situation.

"The entire Vikings organization is extremely thankful that Linval was not seriously hurt, and our thoughts are with all of the victims of this shooting," the team said in a statement. "The team will defer any further comment to the Minneapolis Police Department during its ongoing investigation."

Sources said there was no altercation between Joseph, his teammates and the gunman. The Vikings players were in the back of the building when the gunfire erupted in the front of the building. It's uncertain which teammates were with Joseph at the time.

The shooting happened hours after the Vikings defeated the Oakland Raiders, 10-6, in their preseason opener. Joseph, one of the team's biggest additions in free agency, started against the Raiders but did not record any statistics in a brief appearance.

The shooting occurred at about 1:50 a.m., according to police, who said that multiple people were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center with gunshot wounds. Two of the victims suffered serious injuries and are in stable condition and expected to survive.

The police are still looking for the gunman.

Joseph, 25, was a second-round pick of the Giants in 2010 and played his first four seasons in New York before signing with the Vikings in March.
