Nine Vikings were gone for only 24 hours.

A 10-man practice squad filled out Sunday, including nine players who had been waived Saturday and then went unclaimed by the rest of the NFL.

All three 2016 draft picks the Vikings cut this weekend were brought back: offensive lineman Willie Beavers, German wide receiver Moritz Bohringer and defensive end Stephen Weatherly.

Beavers, taken 121st overall, was the highest drafted player this year not to make a 53-man NFL roster.

Six other players from Vikings camp also are on the squad: tight end Kyle Carter, guard Isame Faciane, running back C.J. Ham, defensive tackle Toby Johnson, cornerback Tre Roberson and quarterback Joel Stave.

The Vikings' lone newcomer is safety Shamiel Gary. Gary is on his fourth NFL team after being let go by the Dolphins.

Stave was the Vikings' No. 2 quarterback before Sam Bradford was acquired on Saturday. Ham is a Duluth native who played at Augustana. Faciane, who played defensive tackle at Florida International, was on the practice squad last season. Johnson is a second-year player from Georgia who has also been on the Titans, Jaguars and Bears practice squads. Roberson, a former collegiate quarterback, is a versatile rookie from Illinois State, and Carter is a rookie from Penn State.

One of the Vikings' final cuts, running back Jhurell Pressley, was claimed off waivers by the Packers. Pressley, undrafted out of New Mexico, scored two touchdowns in the preseason finale against the Rams.

Defensive end Zach Moore, a former Concordia (St. Paul) player, was waived by the Vikings on Saturday and signed with the Cowboys practice squad Sunday. Offensive lineman Austin Shepherd, let go in the first round of cuts last week, joined the Chargers practice squad where he'll be led by former Vikings offensive line coach Jeff Davidson.

The Detroit Lions signed two Vikings cuts to its practice squad, including former Gophers receiver Isaac Fruechte, who spent last season on Minnesota's practice squad. The Lions also signed another Vikings cut, tight end Brian Leonhardt, a Spring Lake Park native who played at Bemidji State.

There is no set salary for practice squad players, but the minimum is $6,900 per week.

Also around the league, former Vikings running back Joe Banyard, who spent parts of four NFL seasons in Minnesota, was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Vikings return to practice on Monday at Winter Park.
