U.S. Rep. John Kline, R-MN, said that he will run for re-election in 2012 -- and he hopes former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty is on the ballot with him, as a presidential candidate.

Answering questions from the press Thursday, the 63-year-old from Lakeville gave quick answers to both questions.

Kline ran twice times for the House before he won in 2002. Since then he's garnered more than 50 percent of the vote in each election and won his 2010 race with 63 percent of the vote.

The choice of Pawlenty for president means that Kline will not be supporting his House colleague, U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann should she decide to throw her hat into the presidential ring.

A recent poll found Pawlenty had 3 percent support from Republicans and Bachmann had 4 percent.
