Twitter hearts its new 'like' button
Twitter's "favorite" button (symbolized by a star) had always been a good tool for bookmarking a tweet you wanted to read later (maybe because it had a link to a news story). It was also a way of acknowledging a tweet you appreciated. Now it's gone, replaced by a heart symbol and officially called a "like." Twitter says the change is meant to make the social network easier to understand for new users. But most armchair critics think it's an attempt to fall in line with the rest of the social media world, where "likes" are king.
