The Twins have placed righthander Matt Capps on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation. The move will be retroactive to June 24.

Lefthander Tyler Robertson, who will wear No. 64, will replace him on the roster. Robertson, called up from Class AAA Rochester on Sunday, was 2-2 with a 3.77 ERA in 33 games with the Red Wings.

Capps was held out of action for a week when he first experienced discomfort. They left him pitch on Saturday against the Reds, but Capps experienced more soreness after that outing.

Capps said he was relieved that all he had wrong with him was some soreness in his shoulder. He's going to be examined by Twins physicians Dr. John Steubs and Dr. Dan Buss before the game, but the plan is for him to get a cortisone shot today or tomorrow, give it two days two work its way through the shoulder then start a rehab program.

It will be the first cortisone shot Capps has ever received.

He hopes he can be in position to make a rehab outing during the All-Star break then be ready to return to action right after that.

ROBERTSON READY

Lefthander Tyler Robertson is here and will wear No. 64. A former starter, Robertson used to throw a big curveball. Now he's a fastball-slider-change guy. He said he's always controlled his slider better than his curveball. We'll have to see if Twins manager Ron Gardenhire is ready to throw him into the fire against Adam Dunn late in the game.

YOOOOOOUK!

Kevin Youkilis is here and is in the lineup for the White Sox, batting second. Sox manager Robin Ventura preferred to leave Dunn in the No. 3 hole. Chicago manager Robin Ventura said he likes Youkilis there because that allows him to move Gordon Beckham down in the order and lengthen the lineup.

MILLERS TIME

Josh Willingham, Brain Dozier and Drew Butera modeled the uniforms the Twins will wear on Saturday when they honor the Minneapolis Millers. Have to admit, they looked pretty cool. There's a split doubleheader that day, and the Millers game will be the evening game. The Royals will wear Kansas City Blues uniforms. I tweeted photos of the uniforms. Again, if you aren't following @LaVelleNeal, what are you waiting for?
