TWINS UPDATE

This is the fourth time the Twins have opened in Baltimore, and third in six years. They are 0-3 in Opening Day games here. The lone time these teams opened in Minnesota, the Twins won in 2007 at the Metrodome. … The Twins are 25-32 all-time on season openers, but they broke an eight-game losing streak in openers last April vs. the Royals. … Odorizzi is the 31st pitcher to open the season for the Twins. He has given up 13 home runs at Camden Yards, more than any other road park, and his ERA at Baltimore is 5.44. … This is the first MLB season opener for five Twins: RHPs Trevor Hildenberger and Tyler Kinley, LHP Gabriel Moya, C Mitch Garver and OF Ryan LaMarre. … They were 44-37 on the road last year; only the Astros, Indians and Red Sox had a better road record in the AL.

ORIOLES UPDATE

The Orioles have won seven consecutive season-opening games and are 42-22 on Opening Day since moving to Baltimore from St. Louis in 1954. … They are 16-4 when they open the season at Camden Yards, and haven't lost one since 2008. … They signed Cashner to a two-year, $16 million contract in February. They also added free-agent RHP Alex Cobb last week, but he is not ready to pitch yet. … At 75-87, they finished last in the AL East last year for the first time since 2011. … Buck Showalter begins his ninth season as Orioles manager, and 20th of his major league career. He is second all-time in victories with Baltimore (622), trailing only Hall of Famer Earl Weaver (1,480).
