Bloody Sunday

If any TV show could use a few musical numbers, it'd be "The Walking Dead," the relentlessly violent hit that keeps finding innovative ways to churn viewers' stomachs. This new season promises more jam-packed action, which hopefully will come at us so rapidly there won't be time to dwell on the eyeball dangling from the latest victim's socket.

Isn't that special?

"The Dana Carvey Show's" decision to open with a scene of Bill Clinton breast-feeding dogs may have killed its chances for mainstream success in 1996, but the ABC comedy series stuck around long enough for the industry to notice cast members Stephen Colbert and Steve Carell. The two giants look back at their time at the cult classic with fondness and good humor in "Too Funny to Fail," a fascinating documentary about how creativity is no match for network standards. The show's executive producer, Robert Smigel, and former ABC Entertainment chairman Ted Harbert also weigh in.

Amy's playhouse

"At Home With Amy Sedaris" is most likely set in the same neighborhood as Pee Wee's Playhouse, with a host that could best be described as Martha Stewart on crack. Sedaris has some genuine housekeeping tips, but they're drowned out by creepy pop-ins (Paul Giamatti is particularly disturbing) and a closet full of personal problems. Nothing wrong with that — as long as you're not crashing in her guest room.
