Mixed bag

If variety is the spice of life, then your tongue should be burning during "Great Performances 40th Anniversary Celebration" (8 p.m. Friday, TPT, Ch. 2), with a lineup that stretches from Itzhak Perlman performing "Dem Trisker Rebn's Nign" to Don Henley trotting out "Desperado." The only thing missing is a juggling mime.

Don't shoot the comedian

The peculiar comedy stylings of Scott Aukerman and Reggie Watts are on display with the return of warped talk show "Comedy Bang! Bang!" (9 p.m. Friday, IFC). Guests this season include Rainn Wilson, Rashida Jones, Jessica Alba and Pee-wee Herman.

Where the boys are

"The Birthday Boys" (9:30 p.m. Friday, IFC) are a clever comedy troupe, especially when executive producer Bob Odenkirk joins them in their Monty Python-esque sketches. But it's a little disheartening that the group doesn't have one female or minority member. Nothing funny about that.

Clothes make the man

"Queer Eye Reunion: 10 Years Later" (8 p.m. Sunday, Bravo) gives the Fab Five a chance to look back on their iconic show. It's the first time the gang has been in the same room since the series went off the air — not counting any of Cher's parties.
