Royal salute

Michelle Obama, who is logging more TV time these days than Regis Philbin in his prime, makes a guest appearance on "Jessie" as part of a salute to military families. That's admirable, but we're still waiting for the first lady to show off her moves on "Dancing With the Stars." 7 p.m. Friday, Disney

Bye bye Barbara

"Barbara Walters: Her Story" rounds out a weeklong celebration of arguably the most influential female journalist in the history of television. She may be officially retiring, but don't be surprised if she keeps popping up from time to time. 8 p.m. Friday, KSTP, Ch. 5

Bringing Samberg back

Andy Samberg returns to his old haunt to close out a hit-and-miss season of "Saturday Night Live." The show certainly misses some valuable veterans, but the women — especially Cecily Strong and Vanessa Bayer — have kept the show afloat. Season finales usually include some surprise appearances. 10:30 p.m. Saturday, KARE, Ch. 11

Gone fishin'

Monster Week, formerly known as the Time Your Mother-in-Law Visits, kicks off with an episode of "River Monsters," in which host Jeremy Wade spends time with black piranhas, which apparently do not make appropriate pets. Purple piranhas, on the other hand, couldn't be lovelier. 8 p.m. Sunday, Animal Planet
