Miller's crossing

Dennis Miller's abrupt move to the right after 9/11 had little effect on his sense of humor. The former "Saturday Night Live" anchor still delivers blistering, witty observations, most recently on his new stand-up special, "Dennis Miller: America 180," on which he tackles the health care initiative and environmental issues. 7 p.m. Friday, Epix

The great outdoors

Fomer Stribber Ron Schara celebrates the 20th anniversary of "Minnesota Bound" with a rare prime-time special that looks at highlights from his 704 shows. His beloved black lab, Raven, will also be on hand to provide insightful commentary. 9 p.m. Saturday, KARE, Ch. 11

The gang's all here

"41ON41" profiles President George H.W. Bush with the help of — you guessed it — 41 storytellers, an eclectic roster that includes former campaign adviser Roger Ailes, White House butler Buddy Carter, master impersonator Dana Carvey and golfer Arnold Palmer. 8 p.m. Sunday, CNN

Justice for all

We're used to watching David Tennant steal the show in such projects as "Broadchurch" and "Viva Blackpool," but he gets pickpocketed by Sophie Okonedo as his courtroom rival in "The Escape Artist," a taut thriller with more twists and turns than a state-fair pretzel. Maybe we shouldn't be surprised. Okonedo, who dazzled in "Hotel Rwanda" and just picked up her first Tony Sunday for "A Raisin in the Sun," is one of our rising stars. 8 p.m. Sunday, TPT, Ch. 2
