Behind the curtain

"Penn & Teller: Fool Us," a short-lived series that aired in England three years ago, finds the comedy duo trying to figure out how aspiring magicians pulled off their tricks. Anyone who leaves the pros scratching their head gets a chance to perform at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas and earns a year's supply of white rabbits. 7 p.m. WUCW, Ch. 23

The perfect storm

"Sharknado 2: The Second One" isn't going to win an ocean full of Emmys, but as junk food goes, it's downright delicious. Ian Ziering and Tara Reid are back, this time to save New York City from swirling sharks, but don't bother with logic or a plot. The real treat here is Thunder Levin's screenplay, which is jam-packed with pop-culture winks and campy cameos. Jump on in. The water's just fine. 8 p.m. Syfy

Walk this way

"Hot in Cleveland," a sitcom that never met a gimmick it didn't like, goes the animation route with an episode that imagines life in Cleveland if LeBron James had never left. His staying put apparently would have led to a zombie apocalypse and Steven Tyler transforming into a genie. Steven, please keep your magic mutts off of Betty White. 9 p.m. TV Land
