The Sandman cometh

If you're looking for mindless television, you might as well go all the way and enjoy Adam Sandler at his silliest. "Billy Madison" (6 p.m., ABC Family) and "Happy Gilmore" (8 p.m.) would lay the groundwork for many moneymaking antics to come. While neither is a masterpiece, I still think the musical number at the end of "Madison" is a hoot.

All right, all right, all right!

The lovefest for Matthew McConaughey continues with his appearance on "Inside the Actors Studio." I look forward to James Lipton's questions about "Dallas Buyers Club" and "Magic Mike," but I hope he has time to bring up McConaughey's subtle, moving performance in "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days." 7 p.m., Bravo

Singing the bruise

"Killer Karaoke," the show that tries to combine "American Idol" with "Fear Factor," returns with new host Mark McGrath, who we hope will keep his references to his old band, Sugar Ray, to a minimum. 9 p.m., TruTV
