Good medicine

"The Good Karma Hospital" doesn't operate from the same soap-opera playbook utilized by "Grey's Anatomy" and "The Good Doctor." Its low-key approach to both medicine and drama makes this series a charmer. In this second season, Ruby Walker (the winning Amrita Acharia) is still adjusting to her role as a junior doctor in south India when she stumbles across the family who once abandoned her. OK, so maybe there's a few pages from the soap-opera playbook.

A royal goodbye

There aren't many more opportunities to watch Meghan Markle on "Suits" before she fully commits to a real-life role as Prince Harry's wife. Her character on the long-running series, paralegal Rachel Zane, will exit during the April 25 season finale. Katherine Heigl is slated to join the show next year.

Reeling in the years

Rod Demery is still having a problem dealing with retirement in "Murder Chose Me." In this second season, the former homicide detective for the Shreveport Police Department continues to look back at his most difficult cases, including one involving the murder of three friends in a seedy part of town.
