On the rocks

Photographer James Balog's mission to chronicle melting glaciers in the Arctic is beautifully captured in the documentary "Chasing Ice" (7 p.m. Friday, NGC). Stick around for the closing credits, which feature Scarlett Johansson singing the Oscar-nominated tune "Before My Time."

Under African skies

Hilary Swank stars in "Mary and Martha" (7 p.m. Saturday, HBO), a malaria-awareness campaign thinly disguised as a TV movie. It has an important statement to make, but any semblance of a story keeps getting interrupted by the filmmakers' need to remind you that malaria in Africa is really, really bad.

Washington in review

The main players behind reporting Watergate and portraying the story on the silver screen reunite for "All the President's Men Revisited" (7 p.m. Sunday, Discovery). Not much new here, but it's a kick to see Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman reminisce about the days when they weren't portraying grandpas.

Forget me not

Alexis Bledel ("Gilmore Girls") and Zachary Levi ("Chuck") are awfully cute together in "Remember Sunday" (8 p.m. Sunday, KSTP, Ch. 5), yet another film that argues that nothing — not even amnesia — can stop true love. It's a nice enough date movie, but by the time you wake up Monday, you'll have forgotten all about it.
