Tall in the saddle James Stewart may be best remembered for his stuttering heroes in Frank Capra classics, but he was even better in blood-and-guts westerns, most notably when directed by the underrated Anthony Mann. Two of their collaborations, 1955's "The Man From Laramie" (7 p.m. Friday, TCM) and 1953's "The Naked Spur" (9 p.m. Friday, TCM), are featured in a Stewart tribute that's rounded off by John Ford's 1961 oater "Two Rode Together" (11 p.m. Friday, TCM).

All wet The Log Chute inside Mall of America sounds like a splash in the kiddie pool compared with what they've built in Brazil. "Xtreme Waterparks" (7 p.m. Sunday, Travel) goes to South America to look at a ride that gets up to 65 miles per hour and has a nearly vertical looping slide.

Fun with Jane Jane Fonda hasn't exactly been setting the big screen on fire lately, but she still has chops as she reminds us with a small but unforgettable appearance as a cable-news owner in a terrific new episode of "The Newsroom" (9 p.m. Sunday, HBO). CNN founder Ted Turner, Fonda's ex-husband, should be beaming with pride.

Dandy Andy

In honor of Andy Griffith, who died Tuesday, spend some time this weekend at the fishin' hole. If that's not convenient, settle for some of the more memorable episodes of "The Andy Griffith Show" (10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, TV Land), part of two nine-hour marathons.
