The Star Tribune and the Pennsylvania research firm WorkplaceDynamics have identified Minnesota's Top Workplaces for the past three years. Now is your chance to nominate your company for our 2013 survey. The deadline to nominate your company as a Top Workplace has been extended to March 22.

WorkplaceDynamics conducts employee surveys in 37 other markets. When it finished surveying employers in Minnesota last year, we found a record number of workplaces that exceeded the firm's national standard for what makes a top workplace. Many of the Minnesota employers were truly exceptional. Earlier this year when it combined the survey results from large companies across the country, WorkplaceDynamics found 24 employers in Minnesota who were not only great places to work in Minnesota but were among the 150 Top Workplaces in the country.

Common factors among all the top companies were employees who believe strongly their company is "going in the right direction'' and who feel "genuinely appreciated'' by their company.

A Minnesota employee surveyed by WorkplaceDynamics said: "I am doing the work I love to do and have the support and confidence of my boss to get the work done."

Individuals, employers or employees can nominate a company. Employees at participating companies will be surveyed between February and April by WorkplaceDynamics. Results will be published online at StarTribune.com and in a special print section on June 16.
