The sweetest thing

"Selma" director Ava DuVernay and Oprah Winfrey are the powerhouse women behind the smarter-than-average soap "Queen Sugar," but the real star here is Kofi Siriboe playing the former incarcerated son dealing with the death of the family's patriarch and the Louisiana sugar cane farm he left behind. I had never previously heard of Siriboe, but after watching his performance in the series' second episode, simmering with both anger and sympathy, I can't wait to see more.

"Survivor" producer Mark Burnett continues to find time to get his wrestling fix with a third season of "Lucha Underground," which takes viewers into the world of one of Mexico's most popular sports. Pentagon Dark, a figure that would make members of the Spanish Inquisition shudder, is one of the more menacing stars.
