Dead man talking

Remember how shocked you were to discover that "Full House" star Bob Saget worked blue outside the family abode? You may have the same reaction watching "Chris Hardwick: Funcomfortable," a highly amusing stand-up special in which host of "The Talking Dead" sets aside his golly-gee persona to riff on being a member of the "Dead Dad's Club" and losing his virginity to a blowup doll.

Sing me back home

Toby Keith pays tribute to the late Merle Haggard during the "American Country Countdown Awards," a ceremony that often gets overshadowed by its country kin. I'm not sure an appearance by Paula Abdul will do much to change that, unless the former pop star can convince Willie Nelson to join her in a fiddle-driven version of "Opposites Attract."

7 p.m. Sunday, KMSP, Ch. 9

Penny for your thoughts

Josh Hartnett may have given up his house in Minneapolis, but he still can't shake rainy ol' London, the setting for his spooky series "Penny Dreadful," which returns for a third season. Nonsubscribers to Showtime can see the first episode on various platforms, including Facebook, YouTube and sho.com.
