Is there a hotter standup comic on the planet today than Louis C.K.? The recent two-time Emmy winner returns to one of his favorite cities for the most anticipated comedy stint in Minneapolis Convention Center history. C.K.'s current 39-date tour -- which subverts Ticketmaster via direct, $45 flat-rate tickets -- sold 100,000 tickets in just 45 hours after going on sale. The comedian recently reflected on his runaway success and why he spends his little free time watching models strut down the runway.

On whether he'll always perform standup...

"Well, it remains the thing I'm best at, I think, and it's always saved my life. It would be crazy for me to stop doing it. It's where a lot of my favorite ideas come from. They start on stage, and it keeps that energy alive for me. I think it's what people depend on me to do better than anything else I do. I still make way more doing [standup] than I do doing ['Louie,' on FX]. And I love it. I love going out. It's my blood. It keeps my blood moving. It's one of the functions of my body, it feels like."

On his favorite TV shows....

"Well, I really like sports. I love watching boxing. It is probably my favorite thing. As far as TV shows, 'Project Runway' is a big favorite of mine. I love it because I actually really enjoy fashion. I really do like looking at it, so watching people create stuff in a competitive spirit, that's really, really fun. And I love that Tim Gunn guy. He's got a great work ethic, and he's a good teacher. And my kids like 'Project Runway,' so I watch it with them."

On television boundaries...

"If I step too far over and I piss a group off really terribly, then I'm going to get curtailed beyond, you know, lower than I am now, if that makes any sense. I know standards pretty well. I'm like a dog with a shock collar, who you could take off the collar after a while. I know where the fence is."

On whether his character on "Louie" will ever find love...

"I don't know, man. I don't know what's going to happen to that guy. I've had so much better luck with women than he has. Only this season [Season 3, which wrapped up last week], I'm starting to feel a little bad for him. So maybe Season 4 I'll park him with somebody for a few episodes, you know, give him a girlfriend, at least let him fail at having a relationship for a minute. Maybe, I don't know."

On comedians who could work as versatilely as him...

"There was a guy named Sam Seder who started out in Boston when I did. And Sam made his own films also and worked really hard at that kind of thing, and he's very funny to watch also. He's a guy who could do it. David Wain is a director who is also really funny. He was on 'The State,' and now he's sort of making studio movies, but I think if David Wain was given a show like this, he could probably pull it off. Both kind of drippy Jews, so I don't know. Maybe that would be a little too much of that. Chris Rock could probably do it if he took it on by himself. There's a bunch, I think. [Longtime Minnesotan] Maria Bamford, who's on my show this year, she has a very quiet little energy, but she's a force. People really love Maria."
