Earlier Monday, ESPN.com reported that Chester Taylor was set to be among the players the Bears were going to release. Thankfully, ESPN.com's Kevin Seifert has cleared up the previous report. Earlier Monday, you probably heard the news that the Chicago Bears were planning to release tailback Chester Taylor. Agent Ken Sarnoff, in fact, tweeted that coach Lovie Smith has informed Taylor of the news.

But Taylor wasn't among the five players the Bears waived.

The Bears then informed Sarnoff that Taylor had not been released and was expected at practice. He has since been sent home for the day. So what in the name of Larry, Moe and Curly is going on here?

Seifert goes on to explain that there was probably just a mix-up between what Lovie Smith told Taylor and what it really meant. Taylor is still probably not in the Bears' plans. But it's another mis-step on the ledger for the Bears, who were still getting ripped as of a month ago by the Ravens for their draft-day dealings gone awry.
