Target Corp. has been sued by watchmaker Swatch Group for allegedly copying its designs for "zebra" and "multicolor" watches.

In a lawsuit made public in a New York federal court Monday, Swatch said it warned Target of the alleged infringement but that Target continued the watches, the Chicago Tribune and Reuters reported.

Minneapolis-based Target declined to comment on the suit. Swatch, based in Bienne, Switzerland, is also the maker of the luxury brands Breguet, Longines, Omega and Harry Winston.

Swatch's suit seeks to force Target to stop selling the watches and to recover profits Target made from them. The suit also seeks unspecified monetary damages.
